0-Waste RVA Sustainable City Meeting

0-Waste RVA hosts a sustainable city meeting at the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Duron Chavis, an award-winning leader in the community, will discuss sustainable development, revitalizing the urban core and opportunities including working with underprivileged city youth on an aquaponics greenhouse, working with disabled people in a "sensory garden" or working on an upcoming urban farm.

Activities Programming Board Weekend Films: 'Batman' and 'Batman Returns'
Activities Programming Board shows films every weekend in the Commons Theater for students and faculty with a valid VCU ID. This weekend the board will show "Batman" and "Batman Returns." "Batman" will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. "Batman Returns" will play at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. MCV Glassware for Sale in Main Hospital
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Health Executives Student Association sells wine glasses and coffee mugs with student-created drawings of iconic MCV Campus buildings in the Main Hospital Conference Room, 1-422. All proceeds from the sales will go toward the Dr. Dolores Clement Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded to an incoming student in the Department of Health Administration that demonstrates a commitment to community service.

Dangerous Goods Shipping Training

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety offers dangerous goods shipping training and certification at Sanger Hall, Room 6-032. This training session is mandatory for any VCU/VCU Health System employees who ship Department of Transportation dangerous goods. It is illegal to ship dangerous goods without the proper training and certification. The training course will cover IATA and DOT regulations pertaining to shipment of dangerous goods by air. Be on time, as those arriving more than ten minutes late will not be certified.

Children's Swim Lessons
Nine levels of swim lesson classes are offered for children of recreational sports members. All classes are offered at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center. Classes are held on Saturday mornings for six weeks and are taught by American Red Cross water safety instructors. Session one runs Jan. 25-March 1. Registration closes Jan. 24 at noon.
