The Office of Environmental Health and Safety sponsors a Safety Fair in the Main Hospital, First Floor Conference Rooms 422-427. Games, prizes and giveaways will be offered, as well as a wealth of information about summer safety, driving safety, personal safety, emergency preparedness and healthy eating and lifestyles. 2014 Summer Shows Opening Reception

The Director for Institutional Equity and Training search committee invites the VCU community to participate in open forum meetings with the three finalists for the Director for Institutional Equity and Training position. Community participation will offer valuable insights that will enhance VCU’s campus climate and professional initiatives. All candidate open forums will take place from 1:45-2:45 p.m. in Ginter House, Conference Room 202D. Candidate A’s will be on Wednesday, June 4; Candidate B’s will be on Monday, June 9; and Candidate C’s will be on Tuesday, June 10. VCUarts presents "Happy Hour at the Anderson Gallery," which features free programs every Wednesday evening in June and July. Michael Miracle, host of "The Lotus Land Show" on WRIR 97.3 FM, kicks off "Happy Hour" on Wednesday, June 11, with a musical extravaganza inspired by the gallery’s summer exhibitions. Phil D., host of WRIR’s "Friday Breakfast Blend," will join with commentary from the Cool Spot Lounge. VCU Medical Center presents a free seminar about epilepsy as part of the Lewis Ginter Seminar Series. Soundarya Gowda, M.D., Department of Neuology, will discuss alternative treatment options available that can improve the quality of life for those with epilepsy and help control seizures when medications don't work. VCU helpIT Center Walk-up Counter Relocation

The VCU helpIT Center walk-up counter has temporarily moved from the Cabell Library basement to the University Student Commons, Room 142, across from the Career Center, due to library construction. All in-person support requests, audio-visual equipment checkout and test scanning will be processed at this location during the summer. Cabell Construction Update: Fourth Floor No Longer Silent

Cabell Library's usually silent fourth floor will soon become a construction zone. Shelving is being dismantled and moved. Furniture from study areas on the fourth floor will be moved to the third floor June 9-11. The Mapp Room will become a reading room for Special Collections and Archives. Free Introduction to VCU Health System Adult Day Center

The VCU Health System offers a free introduction to its Adult Day Program, for adults who desire socialization or supervision during the day, on Friday, June 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the MCV Campus. This introduction will provide a day of respite for caregivers and an opportunity for adults to experience this innovative care option. Pre-registration is required.
