The Center for Clinical and Translational Research hosts the Central Virginia Society of Clinical Research Associates chapter meeting in Critical Care Hospital, first floor, Room 304. Betsy Ripley, M.D., professor of medicine in the Division of Nephrology at VCU, will present "The Role of the Coordinator in Promoting Quality Clinical Research." Discussions and brainstorming for solutions to difficult situations will provide usable methods and knowledge for coordinators and other research staff. VCU Music's 22nd annual "Guitar and Other Strings Series" presents Stephen Bennett in the Singleton Center for the Performing Arts. The Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies hosts “Jail Mail” each Monday this summer from 1-4 p.m. in Crenshaw House, Room 103. Participants will write letters to prisoners in the Richmond City Jail and LGBTQ prisoners across the U.S. Supplies to start the pen pal exchange will be provided, as well as pizza. Become a Friendship Family for a VCU International Student

The Friendship Family and Cultural Exchange Program for international students, sponsored by the Global Education Office, seeks volunteers interested in becoming a friendship family for a VCU international student or scholar. The program matches VCU students and scholars with local Richmond families for cultural exchange and friendship. The FFACE Program stimulates curiosity, increases cultural understanding and provides insight into a world beyond individual perspectives.
