Recreation and Well-Being Lifeguarding Certification

Participants will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent aquatic emergencies and increase critical thinking and decision-making skills. This course is offered in the Blended Learning format and will require seven to eight hours of online pre-course work. Free Alternative Spring Break Opportunity for Men of Color

Men's Multicultural Collective will partner with Habitat for Humanity for a free alternative spring break opportunity for Men of Color. Participants will work on site so create an affordable home for a local family. At the site, Men of Color will receive a safety talk/orientation training and necessary equipment. Recreation and Well-Being First Aid, CPR and AED Training - Blended Learning

VCU RecWell will offer the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course, which prepares participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. This course meets OSHA requirements for workplace CPR/AED and first aid training. Successful completion of this course provides participants with a certificate valid for two years. Do You Drink Alcohol? You Could Be Eligible to Participate in a Research Study Looking To Improve Treatment Modalities for Alcohol Use Disorder

Researchers at the Institute of Drug and Alcohol Studies are inviting volunteers aged 18-70 to participate in a study to explore different levels of alcohol drinkers as a way to better provide specialized treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder. The study involves one to four visits to the CARI Clinic and involves interviews, tasks on a computer, a physical by a nurse and an MRI scan. Volunteers are paid for their time.
