United2Heal Shipment Day
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
United2Heal at VCU will have a shipment day warehouse volunteer event to send surplus medical supplies to Sierra Leone. Volunteers will help load a rental truck with boxed medical supplies from the United2Heal warehouse at 1210 Bentley St. Rides will be provided at the Commons loop from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Coffee and breakfast will be provided.

Gideon Appah: 'Forgotten, Nudes, Landscapes'

'Forgotten, Nudes, Landscapes,' Feb. 19–June 19 at VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., merges painter Gideon Appah's interest in Ghanaian popular culture with his own imagination, dreams and fantasies. Newspaper clippings, entertainment posters and films from the mid-20th century become source material for Appah’s explorations of the rise and fall of Ghanian cinema and leisure culture. The cycle of cultural memory – from heyday to bygone – is depicted in a series of portraits of illustrious and forgotten figures.

Recreation and Well-Being First Aid Blended Course
The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Course will teach participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, including burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries and heat and cold emergencies to help victims of any age. The blended format features a virtual experience in which participants will respond to real-world emergencies in preparation for the instructor-led classroom skill session. Patients With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Are Invited To Participate in a Study of a Potential New Treatment
We are inviting male and female Type 2 diabetes patients with painful diabetic neuropathy ages 18-75 to participate in a research investigation of a new treatment to alleviate pain and examine its effects on pain perception. In addition to the new treatment, this study involves completing surveys and undergoing tests to evaluate perceptions of pain. Volunteers will be compensated for their time. Participants are only required to come once for the study.
