The VCU Police Department will host a safety and bicycle U-Lock table at the Compass, 828 Park Ave. VCU students, faculty and staff can receive a free U-Lock (show valid VCU ID) and instructions on bicycle registration. Better Practices for Inclusive Teaching Seminar

IExcel Education will host a four-hour online seminar led by Adrien DeLoach, executive director of the Division for Student Engagement and Impact. The seminar is designed for faculty to workshop their syllabi to enhance diversity and inclusion throughout their teaching. It will focus on developing best practices for revising course content to incorporate learner-centered teaching methodologies that consider multiple cultural perspectives. Free Workshop: How To Do Library Research for Humanities Undergraduates

Test Pattern 04: jaamil olawale kosoko

The ICA’s Test Pattern performance series returns for the fall, starting with a presentation of artist and author jaamil olawale kosoko‘s "Black Body Amnesia," a live theatrical event that examines the shapeshifting, illegible and fugitive realities of Black diasporan people negotiating the psychic life worlds of living inside the American context. The event will be at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St.

History and Health: Racial Equity Symposium

VCU's Office of Health Equity will host this inaugural symposium in the Galleria of the James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Makerspace Training Courses
Registration is open for a Makers' Training Workshop and for Makers’ Courses (Modules I, II, and III) for VCU students who seek to use the College of Engineering Makerspaces. Do You Vape?
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who vape nicotine-containing e-cigarettes are invited to participate in a research study that examines the effects of vaping on eating behavior. Two, three-hour laboratory visits, each with a buffet meal, are required. Compensation is provided. Principal investigators are Andrew Barnes, Ph.D., Department of Health Behavior and Policy, and Caroline Cobb, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

Virtual Reality Gaming for Back Pain
Are you currently experiencing low back pain, between the ages of 18-60 years old and interested in the possibility of nine weeks of nonsurgical experimental treatment? If you answered yes to all three you may qualify for our research. What? New, innovative and fun virtual reality games are designed to help people with chronic back pain move and feel better. Where? All appointments, testing and treatments are conducted at VCU. When? Participation in the study involves 24 one-hour appointments scheduled over a 57-week period. Who?
