In this Weeks of Welcome tradition, the Class of 2026, incoming transfer students and The Peppas spirit band march from New Student Convocation at Monroe Park through campus and back to the park for a celebratory cookout. Food options will include Burrito and Cookout stations (with vegetarian and vegan options), Papa John's Pizza, popcorn, shaved ice, cotton candy and nachos. Faculty: How to Find Free Texts for Your Students

Thanks to an ongoing partnership with Barnes and Noble@VCU, VCU Libraries notifies faculty members when a book they are assigning is available free to students as an unlimited user ebook. Although purchasing traditional textbooks falls outside library collection guidelines, VCU Libraries has many books that are already being assigned as course materials. This project allows students to freely access their course materials without faculty having to make any changes to their course plans.

Recreation and Well-Being Power Hour Session One

RecWell Small Group Training Power Hour is a circuit-style six-week class that utilizes strength and cardiovascular training on specialty equipment to improve fitness level, challenge mind and body and most importantly, make fitness fun. Groups are limited to 12 participants. No prior experience is necessary. RecWell trainers can modify all exercises to fit current skill levels, while coaching participants to improve the body's capabilities.
