Medical Laboratory Sciences Fundraiser at Panera
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The VCU Medical Laboratory Sciences Class of 2023 will hold a fundraiser at Panera, 810 W. Grace St. Class members will be at the Commons from 3-7 p.m. handing out flyers that can be shown to the cashier. Orders can also be placed online for pickup using the promo code PRFUND. All proceeds will go toward the Medical Laboratory Sciences program.

Hoops2Heal Charity Basketball Tournament

United2Heal at VCU will host its Hoops2Heal Annual Charity Basketball Tournament at the Cary Street Gym. Form teams up to eight members for 5v5 full-court basketball or sign up as a free agent, no experience necessary.

Code Beats Live

Code Beats is an interdisciplinary research project led by David C. Shepherd, Ph.D., associate professor, VCU Engineering Computer Science Department, and Taylor Barnett, DMA, assistant professor, VCUarts Department of Music. The program, at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., will feature live music performed by hip hop artist Dumi Right and VCUarts music students, a live coding demonstration and information about the July 18-22 Code Beats summer program for Richmond-area middle school students.

The Quey Percussion Duo will present a free concert in the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. The duo, Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious, has performed in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Jordan, the UK and extensively throughout the United States. They have worked with music festivals, art galleries, chamber music series and conventions.

The Art of Ukrainian Egg Decorating

VCU Continuing and Professional Education will present a live online pysanka workshop with Iryna Piontkivska, a Ukrainian national living in Virginia. Learn about the history of the ancient egg decorating traditions, the symbols and their meaning, watch a demonstration of the process, and then create a personal Ukrainian Easter egg with the supplies purchased from the provided list. Registration includes one Zoom link per household, for up to four people to participate together.
