President Rao To Deliver State of the University Address Today

Join President Michael Rao for the State of the University Address, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. in the James Branch Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, Room 303. During his address, President Rao will announce transformational news that will accelerate our ability to advance human health and well-being and position VCU as a global leader in education, research and patient care. Skipwith built his home, also known as the Skipwith-Roper Cottage, in 1793 and it remained in the custody of Black homeowners until the cottage was forcibly condemned due to the construction of the Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike. JXN is leading the “Skipwith-Roper Homecoming” campaign effort to reconstruct the cottage as a historic site to tell a fuller history of the Black American experience through the untold story of the life and legacy of the founding father of the country’s first historically registered Black urban neighborhood. Recreation and Well-Being First Aid Blended Course

The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Course will teach participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, including burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries and heat and cold emergencies to help victims of any age. The blended format features a virtual experience in which participants will respond to real-world emergencies in preparation for the instructor-led classroom skill session. Filipino American Heart Health Study

Youssef Roman, Pharm.D., Ph.D., of VCU's School of Pharmacy is conducting an epidemiological study to assess the prevalence and causes of heart diseases in Filipino Americans.
