Luis Camnitzer: A Museum Is a School

What does it mean to work at the intersection of public education and contemporary art? For more than half a century, artist Luis Camnitzer has been pondering this question. "A Museum Is a School" is a site-specific, conceptual work by Camnitzer that has been displayed at over 20 museums around the world. Camnitzer's message will be installed on the Institute for Contemporary Art building at 601 W. Broad St.

Call for Applications: Harris Manchester College Summer Research Institute at Oxford University
VCU's Global Education Office, in partnership with the university's Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, is now accepting applications for the 2022 Harris Manchester College Summer Research Institute to take place July 3-9 at Oxford University. The institute is an opportunity for faculty to enhance a research project through a week of focused study. Participants' time is their own for study and writing, as well as taking advantage of cultural activities offered at Oxford University. Applications are due by 5 p.m. March 18.

Recreation and Well-Being (RecWell) Aquatics Children's Swim Lessons
Parent/Child and Preschool 1-3 Swim Lessons will be offered this spring at Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center, 101 S. Linden St. Classes will be taught by certified water safety instructors. Participants will learn techniques in a fun and engaging manner. Registration for the first session closes at noon March 18. Classes will be held on Saturdays, March 19-April 9.

Va-LEND Is Accepting Applications
Va-LEND is recruiting its next cohort of trainees. LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) is a training program that helps people share ideas and learn leadership skills. It was created to improve the health and lives of children and adults with disabilities and their family members. Trainees complete classes, clinical observations, policy activities and a family mentorship experience. Over the course of the program, trainees work on their leadership project which they present at the end of the program. Trainees complete 150 or 300 hours of content.
