Broad Street Construction Project To Start April 11
On April 11, the city of Richmond will embark on a gateway and corridor improvements project along Broad Street which will include construction along Broad Street from Hamilton to Laurel streets and paving from Third Street to just west of Staples Mill Road. There will be intermittent travel lane, parking lane and sidewalk closures during the project. Paving will be a 24-hour operation, starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday and ending at 6 p.m. on Friday, with lane closures limited during morning and evening peak hours. At least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction. Many GRTC buses, including the Pulse, will be detoured off Broad Street. 'Navajo Math Circles' Featuring Filmmaker George Csicsery

VCU's Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics will present an afternoon with George Csicsery of ZALA films. Csicsery is an internationally known independent filmmaker and writer whose documentary films have illuminated the mathematics community. Intercultural Festival

The Intercultural Festival, a free event open to all students, will be held at the Ram Horns Plaza at the Commons. The first 500 students to attend will receive free vouchers for the food trucks. Bring cash to buy extra food. Scheduled food trucks include Auntie Nings, Choega's Dumpling and Noodle Cart, Jijis, Lady Sharon’s Soul Food Kitchen, Mary's Empanadas, Noah’s Bao Buns and Thai Top Ten. Student organizations will host cultural performances and interactive cultural activities including Bhangra, Bachata and Bollywood Dance Performances; Friendship Bracelet DYI Station; Henna Art with Ancient Yemini Script; Refugee Visual Exhibit + Letter to Representative and Petition; Bachata Steps Mini-Lessons; Zine Making Demo; and Paper Fan Decorations with Traditional Calligraphy.

Introduction RVA Bike Share With RamBikes

RamBikes will host an introduction to RVA Bike Share workshop at 1106 W. Broad St. (near the intersection of Broad and Harrison streets) for anyone interested in joining the bike share. The event will cover a portion of the commuter basics for riding in the city. Next, participants will walk to a station and those who wish can sign up for the bike share (with assistance, if desired). Then participants will take a free ride on the bikes on a combination of all the bike infrastructure in Richmond and end at a park nearby.
