'Thriving While Black: Survival in the Digital Age'

Join VCU's African American Male Student Advocacy and Mentoring Initiative Committee for the Fifth Annual VCU Black Male Student Symposium. The event will be offered virtually and at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. The theme will be "Thriving While Black: Survival in the Digital Age." Speakers will be Chioke I'Anson, Ph.D., assistant professor at VCU and NPR personality, and Nicholas Brown, instructor at Virginia State University and VCU doctoral student. Test Pattern 02: Shawné Michaelain Holloway With Julian Kevon Glover

In a live performance at the ICA for the series Test Pattern, artist Shawné Michaelain Holloway will present "Dewclaw," a multimedia composition that uses the choreography of sadomasochist bondage play and the faux rage-fueled narrative vocalization styles of ‘80's and '90’s wrestling promos to consider the forgotten memories, habits and desires stored within our bodies and identities. The performance at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., will be followed by a conversation with artist and VCU professor Julian Kevon Glover, Ph.D.

Adult Learn-to-Ride With RamBikes

Drug Take Back Day

Sustainable Pharmacy Project will host a Drug Take Back Day. In celebration of Earth Day and National Drug Take Back Day, the project is encouraging the greater Richmond community to bring in any unused/expired/unwanted drugs for proper disposal. This event is open and free for all and all substances are accepted except syringes, inhalers and aerosols. Come learn about ways to reduce pharmaceutical pollution and prevent drug accidents. Patients With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Are Invited To Participate in a Study of a Potential New Treatment
We are inviting male and female Type 2 diabetes patients with painful diabetic neuropathy ages 18-75 to participate in a research investigation of a new treatment to alleviate pain and examine its effects on pain perception. In addition to the new treatment, this study involves completing surveys and undergoing tests to evaluate perceptions of pain. Volunteers will be compensated for their time. Participants are only required to come once for the study. The study is conducted within the VCU Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Lab.
