VCU Police Bike Registration and U-Lock Table

The VCU Police Department will host a bike registration and U-Lock table in front of the James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St. VCU students, faculty and staff can receive a free U-Lock with proof of VCU ID and learn how to register their bicycle. A limited supply of U-Locks will be provided.

Q Symposium Keynote Book Talk - 'HoneyPot: Black Southern Women Who Love Women'

Q Collective will present the Q Symposium 2022 keynote event, "HoneyPot: Black Southern Women Who Love Women," a book talk with author E. Patrick Johnson, Ph.D. Johnson bears witness in this book to the real-life stories of queer Black women throughout the American South. The event will be in the University Student Commons theater, 907 Floyd Ave. The author will read from the book and sign books afterward.

Pace Center Stories and Lunch

Adulting 101 will be the theme of this week's event at the Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St. Storytelling allows people to learn about experiences and embrace a sense of belonging to a community. Various story topics are chosen. A homemade lunch will be served. Volunteers can assist from 11:15 a.m.-1:45 p.m. on the date of the event.

Nuhash Bhuiyan will discuss the effects of Doxorubicin through which a combination treatment of Sildenafil and Rapamysin could improve the anticancer efficacy of Doxorubicin while reducing its cardiotoxicity. Bike Maintenance 101 With RamBikes

RamBikes will host a Bike Maintenance 101 workshop at 1106 W. Broad St. (near the intersection of Broad and Harrison streets) for all levels of bike riders. This introductory workshop will cover parts of the bicycle and how to discuss them with your mechanic, sights and sounds that indicate a problem and routine maintenance. The workshop will also include cleaning of components and what normal wear and tear looks like.

Shannon Foley Martinez, a former far-right extremist who now helps extremists transition out of violent and hate-based groups, will speak at a virtual event hosted by VCU's Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Department in collaboration with the Virginia Holocaust Museum. Health Disparities Organization and PennyAppeal Volleyball Fundraiser Tournament

Proceeds from the volleyball tournament fundraiser will go to CARITAS, an nonprofit that aids the homeless population with shelter, food and hygiene kits. The entry fee is $5 per person or $24 for a team of six. The first-place team has the opportunity to win a $60 Chipotle gift card. The event will be held at the Cary Street Gym.

Patients With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Are Invited To Participate in a Study of a Potential New Treatment
We are inviting male and female Type 2 diabetes patients with painful diabetic neuropathy ages 18-75 to participate in a research investigation of a new treatment to alleviate pain and examine its effects on pain perception. In addition to the new treatment, this study involves completing surveys and undergoing tests to evaluate perceptions of pain. Volunteers will be compensated for their time. Participants are only required to come once for the study. The study is conducted within the VCU Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Lab.
