Resilient Rams Interactive Workshop
4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Have you ever felt like a failure? We all have! Learn how to fail forward and build resilience in this interactive, in-person workshop. Participants will leave with a toolkit for evaluating risk and concrete ways to explore healthy risk-taking. The session has been co-created by the da Vinci Center for Innovation and VCU's Department of Recreation and Well-Being (RecWell). The session will be at the center, 807 S. Cathedral Place.

Resilient Hope: AAPI Experiences Thriving in America

My Lan Tran, executive director of the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with VCU's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, will moderate a panel which will engage in storytelling about sustainable enterprise topics and American experiences. The event, in Lecture Room 101, Grace E. Harris Hall, 1015 Floyd Ave., will also include informational booths featuring VACC and Asian American and Pacific Islander student organizations. Commuter Basics With RamBikes

RamBikes will host a commuter basics workshop at 1106 W. Broad St. (near the intersection of Broad and Harrison streets) for anyone who would like to commute by bike but isn't sure how to get started. The event will include a review of safety aspects of riding in traffic as well as what gear can increase visibility. The workshop will also cover routine maintenance and some key checks to make before each ride. No experience is necessary. A ride at a park will be offered for those who bring a bike.

2022 Plan-Off!
Friday, May 6, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Each year, students from the Wilder School’s Master of Urban and Regional Planning program present their ideas for a better community in the annual Plan-Off! competition. Students compete by pitching their solution to a real-world planning, public policy or management problem before a panel of judges. Students have five minutes to present their plans, which will advance through a series of rounds until a champion is named. French Culture and Cuisine

VCU Continuing and Professional Education will present a five-week course with Ngoc-My Guidarelli, adjunct French professor for VCU School of World Studies and catalog librarian for VCU Libraries. Learn about French culture, French influence in cuisine around the French-speaking world and sample cuisine in two Richmond-area French restaurants while learning basic vocabulary to read a menu and order a meal in French. Registration excludes the cost of food, beverages and gratuity.

Cabell Library Extends Hours at Semester's End
Cabell Library will be open until 3 a.m. (as opposed to 2 a.m.) Sunday-Thursday. The Workshop will also add extra hours to accommodate the big "final project weekend" before the exam period: Saturday, April 30, open 1 to 5 p.m. (normally, the building is closed Saturdays) and Sunday, May 1, open noon to midnight (adding two hours to the end of the day).

Filipino American Heart Health Study
Youssef Roman, Pharm.D., Ph.D., of VCU's School of Pharmacy is conducting an epidemiological study to assess the prevalence and causes of heart diseases in Filipino Americans. This study is for those who consider themselves Filipino with both biological parents of Filipino heritage. The study is funded by VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research.
