West Broad Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations

Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking. Today (June 15) and tomorrow (June 16), all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to the West Cary Street Deck, 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, 100 S. Jefferson St.; or Henry Street Decks (East/West), 200 and 201 Henry St.

A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by Parking and Transportation today (June 15) and tomorrow (June 16) to transport subscribers to and from the West Cary Street Deck and Jefferson Street Deck. RamSafe shuttles will run on a continuous loop to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin Streets, Franklin and Laurel Streets and Shafer and Franklin Streets from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Transportation requests outside of these hours can be made by placing a ride request through the RamSafe service at 828-SAFE (7233) or using the RamSafe mobile app.

Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck today (June 15) and tomorrow (June 16). MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck or Henry Street Decks (East/West).

Recovery Roast Coffee Cupping

Broad St. Participants will taste a variety of coffees from Afterglow Coffee Cooperative to finalize the latest edition of Recovery Roast Coffee. This coffee “cupping” will introduce participants to the history of coffee and the complexities of roasting, tasting and enjoyment. 100 Miles for Q-VOICES

Q-VOICES is an intentionally crowdfunded dissertation study out of the Social Behavioral Science Program. This study will focus on the experiences of LGBTQ cancer survivors (burden, strengths and navigation) to improve cancer prevention and detection for future LGBTQ folk. Student primary investigator Viktor Clark will undertake a 100-mile bike ride and is looking for sponsors for each mile ($1-$100). Funds will go toward livable wage participant incentives and other study requirements.

Creative Arts Day Camp

VCUarts' Department of Art Education will offer Creative Arts Day Camp for children rising into grades K-9. Students will explore digital media, painting, drawing, bookmaking, fibers and more. Classes will be taught by graduate and undergraduate art education students on the VCU campus. Four classes will be offered each session with classes divided by age group. Sessions will be July 11–15, July 18–22, July 25-29 and Aug. 1–5. Registration is open now, Discounts and scholarships are available.

Do You Vape Electronic Cigarettes?

Individuals who vape/use electronic cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation will be provided. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
