West Broad Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations

Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking. Today (June 10) and Tuesday through Thursday (June 14-16), all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to the West Cary Street Deck, 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, 100 S. Jefferson St.; or Henry Street Decks (East/West), 200 and 201 Henry St.

A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by Parking and Transportation today (June 10) and Tuesday through Thursday (June 14-16) to transport subscribers to and from the West Cary Street Deck and Jefferson Street Deck. RamSafe shuttles will run on a continuous loop to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin Streets, Franklin and Laurel Streets and Shafer and Franklin Streets from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Transportation requests outside of these hours can be made by placing a ride request through the RamSafe service at 828-SAFE (7233) or using the RamSafe mobile app.

Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck today (June 10) and Tuesday through Thursday (June 14-16). MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck or Henry Street Decks (East/West).

Throughout his week-long solo drive from Tucson, Ariz., to Richmond, Toussaint-Baptiste will perform activations in key cities along Interstate 10 and Interstate 95, highways that are themselves arteries of Gulf South sonority. The culminating performance in Richmond, which will be open to the public, will be held at 401 W. ICA Spring Exhibitions To Close June 19

Current exhibitions at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., will close June 19. The exhibitions include Sila Chanto and Belkis Ramírez: "Aquí Me Quedo/Here I Stay," Gideon Appah: "Forgotten, Nudes, Landscapes," Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste: "Set It Off" and "Doing Language: Word Work." With the season closing, the ICA will be illuminating Tavares Strachan's “You Belong Here (Flamingo II)” for the final time.

Patients With Painful Diabetic Neuropathy Are Invited To Participate in a Study of a Potential New Treatment

We are inviting male and female Type 2 diabetes patients with painful diabetic neuropathy ages 18-75 to participate in a research investigation of a new treatment to alleviate pain and examine its effects on pain perception. In addition to the new treatment, this study involves completing surveys and undergoing tests to evaluate perceptions of pain. Volunteers will be compensated for their time. Participants are only required to come once for the study. The study is conducted within the VCU Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Lab. Filipino American Heart Health Study

Youssef Roman from VCU's School of Pharmacy is leading a community genetic research study to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases in Filipino Americans. You can participate in this study if you are 18 or older and self-identify as Filipino and both of your biological parents are also Filipino. This study will take place at VCU Clinical Research Unit. Recruiting Now for TEENS, a Virtual Weight-Management Research Program for 12-16-Year-Olds

Are you concerned about your teen’s weight? We can help. TEENS is a research program that includes a four-month family-based lifestyle intervention - all conducted virtually - for teens ages 12 to 16 who are overweight or obese. The program is offered by Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. It includes weekly, virtual group classes for teens and parents that cover topics such as healthy eating, physical activity and goal-setting. Teens also participate in live exercise sessions conducted online by personal trainers.
