Art for Hearts Study - Free Community-Based Research Program for Women Exploring Mental and Physical Health Through Painting
Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Equity in Cardiovascular Health Outcomes Lab is holding the Art for Hearts study, starting Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 4-6 p.m. at the VCU Health Hub at 25th. The study is an eight-part, eight-week program about how painting and expressing your thoughts and feelings could help mental health and blood pressure in Black women.

Applications Available for Program on Creating Interprofessional Readiness for Complex and Aging Adults
The Virginia Geriatric Education Center, housed in VCU’s Virginia Center on Aging, is accepting applications for its annual faculty and clinicians development program. CIRCAA is a case-based, interprofessional learning experience that creates age-friendly practitioners who are knowledgeable of person-centered care. Smoking Reduction Study for African American Menthol Smokers
Adults who smoke menthol cigarettes and identify as Black/African American are invited to participate in a study that involves electronic cigarette use for six weeks to reduce their smoking. Participants must be willing to visit the study site, receive phone calls and respond to texts and surveys. Compensation is provided. Primary investigators are Andrew Barnes, Ph.D., Department of Health Behavior and Policy, and Caroline Cobb, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
