Fall Self-Defense: Aikido Courses

VCU Continuing and Professional Education, in partnership with the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, will hold face-to-face and online self-defense Aikido courses for one academic credit this fall. Courses at The Fan Dojo begin the week of Aug. 22 and run through early December on Mondays, 8:15-9:15 p.m. (HPEX 121.C90) or Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m. (HPEX 121.C91). A $65 fee goes to the dojo to cover a T-shirt, costs and materials. An asynchronous online course is also available (HPEX 121.C94), or choose a live online short course beginning Sept. 13 on Tuesdays, 7-8:15 p.m. (HPEX 121.C92). Focus Group: Community-Based Research on Intersectional Experiences in Young Black Women Ages 18+

Grammar for Effective Communication Course

VCU's English Language Program will offer a new online-synchronous course this Fall for non-native English speakers who wish to build fluency and confidence in using English grammar rules in speaking and writing. Do You Vape Electronic Cigarettes?

Individuals who vape/use electronic cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation will be provided. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

Twins, Triplets and More

The Mid-Atlantic Twin Registry is a group of twins and their families who are willing to consider taking part in twin-based, health-related research. MATR welcomes twins of any age, ethnicity and zygosity (identical or fraternal). All twins and triplets in the VCU community are invited to to register with MATR and to pass the registry's information on to any other twins.
