HEOA 2008 Voter Registration Form Notification Mandate

In order to comply with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, VCU is providing its students with a link to the National Voter Registration form, www.eac.gov/voters/register-and-vote-in-your-state. This is where voters can download the National Mail Voter Registration Form to register to vote or to update registration information. As required by the act, the sole purpose of this announcement is to direct students to the form. However, student organizations may hold voter registration drives on campus that will offer further guidance and support with this endeavor.

Mindful Moms Program for Pregnancy

VCU School of Nursing's Mindful Moms Program invites those who are 12-26 weeks pregnant to participate in free prenatal yoga or education classes during their pregnancy. Mindful Moms is an NIH-funded study seeking to understand how to best enhance mental health and well-being during pregnancy. Those who are feeling stressed, anxious or depressed are encouraged to participate.

VCU Online Universal Design for Learning Regional Conference Call for Submissions

VCU Online and Continuing and Professional Education will host the inaugural regional conference on Universal Design for Learning at the Omni Richmond Hotel, 100 S. 12th St. The event will kick off with a pre-conference event on Monday, June 19, 2023, followed by the conference, Tuesday-Thursday, June 20-22, 2023. Join both higher education and P-12 faculty and staff colleagues to explore the intersection of UDL with the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion. Black Love Safe Love

This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available.

Filipino American Heart Health Study

Youssef Roman, Pharm.D., Ph.D., of VCU's School of Pharmacy is conducting an epidemiological study to assess the prevalence and causes of heart diseases in Filipino Americans. This study is for those who consider themselves Filipino with both biological parents of Filipino heritage. The study is funded by VCU's C.
