Men's Multicultural Collective is an office-led group created to support all VCU students identifying as men of color. VCU Police Back to School Safety Table
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The VCU Police Department will host a bike registration and U-Lock table in front of James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St. VCU students, faculty and staff can receive a free U-Lock with proof of VCU ID and learn how to register a bicycle. A limited supply of U-Locks will be provided. Follow VCU Police on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for future U-Lock giveaway dates. A table will also be available Friday, Sept. 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Compass, 828 Park Ave.

Lecture by Visiting Artist Myra Mimlitsch-Gray

VCU's Department of Craft/Material Studies will present a lecture by artist Myra Mimlitsch-Gray. Mimlitsch-Gray explores craft as subject and object, engaging the field’s history and methods to interpret utility and form. Her work is widely exhibited and was recently included in "Crafting America" at Crystal Bridges Museum of Art, and "EXACTLY: precision and process" at Pamela Salisbury Gallery, Hudson. N.Y. The lecture will be at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St.

Workshops @ The Workshop: Adobe Premiere for Artists

VCU Libraries' ongoing series of multimedia workshops continues with a basic overview of Adobe Premiere, which will focus on the parts of the software that can be the most useful for creative expression. 'To Tell It Like It Is' - A Teach-In

History and Health: Racial Equity Symposium

Do You Vape?
Individuals between the ages of 18-65 who vape nicotine-containing e-cigarettes are invited to participate in a research study that examines the effects of vaping on eating behavior. Two, three-hour, laboratory visits, each with a buffet meal are required. Compensation is provided. Principal investigators are Andrew Barnes, Ph.D., Department of Health Behavior and Policy, and Caroline Cobb, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available.
