Recreation and Well-Being Weightlifting 101
Tuesday, Sep. 27, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This single session-event will teach the basics of fundamental exercises including the squat, deadlift and bench press and how to program them into a workout. Led by certified personal trainers, participants will learn principles of weight training in a small group environment. The session will be held at the Cary Street Gym FIT Zone, 101 S. Linden St.

Noah Simblist: What Do We Hold in Common? Explorations Of Local and Global Notions of Community

This presentation will examine recent projects that address different definitions of community, including “Tania Bruguera: The Francis Effect.” This book is about the noted Cuban artist/activist’s project in which Bruguera requests that the pope grant Vatican City citizenship to all immigrants and refugees. The icon of Bruguera’s project was the Pangea, a symbol of the world that becomes one land mass where the borders between nation states are blurred. Fundamentals of Computing Puzzle Day

There's a new tip option for LiveSafe app users, “Safety Concern.” VCU Police will use tips submitted in this category to crowd source locations where community members may feel less safe on VCU's campuses. VCUPD can move resources to these locations in real time. Anyone can download the LiveSafe app, or use LiveSafe in the VCU Mobile app, to send in tips, photos, audio files, videos and screenshots. Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available.
