The seminar is designed for faculty to workshop their syllabi to enhance diversity and inclusion throughout their teaching. 'The Last Duel' Film Screening and Discussion

The VCU History Department will present a screening of Ridley Scott’s 2021 film "The Last Duel" at the Byrd Theatre, 2908 W. Recreation and Well-Being Foundational Movement Series

RecWell’s Small Group Training Program is offering the Foundational Movement Series, designed to help individuals program unique and effective workouts in order to reach specific goals. A certified personal trainer will review basic biomechanics and show participants how to implement movements into daily exercises. The first session of this three-part series is about "The Pull,” focusing on exercises that involve moving weight toward the body. The program will be at the Cary Street Gym FIT Zone, 101 S. VCUarts Theatre and The Conciliation Project To Present 'WHITESPLAINING'

VCUarts Theatre and local social justice theatre company The Conciliation Project will present an original devised piece titled "WHITESPLAINING," directed by Tawnya Pettiford-Wates, Ph.D. The ensemble intentionally interrogates whiteness, white supremacy and white culture through the transformative power of story. Using satire, story, anecdotes, commentary, music and dance, "WHITESPLAINING" unpacks cultural “norms” and the mythology surrounding racism and white privilege. Performances will be staged in The Basement, 300 E. Broad St., Sept. 9-18.

Dinner, Film and Discussion of 'The Hidden Heart' With VCU Transplant Expert

The Health Sciences Library and University Student Commons and Activities will present a screening of the documentary “Hidden Heart: The Story of the First Human Heart Transplant, Hamilton Naki and Christiaan Barnard." The film tells the story of the first human heart transplant (1967) performed in apartheid South Africa and is shown as part of the Common Book program. Do You Vape?
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 65 who vape nicotine-containing e-cigarettes are invited to participate in a research study that examines the effects of vaping on eating behavior. Two, three-hour laboratory visits, each with a buffet meal, are required. Compensation is provided. Principal investigators are Andrew Barnes, Ph.D., Department of Health Behavior and Policy, and Caroline Cobb, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age.
