The VCU Police Department will host a safety and bicycle U-Lock table on the MPC campus. VCU students, faculty and staff can receive a free U-Lock (show valid VCU ID) and instructions on how to register their bicycle. A limited supply of U-Locks will be provided. Lecture by Visiting Artist Ling Chun

VCU's Department of Craft/Material Studies will present a lecture by Ling Chun, a multimedia artist from Hong Kong. Chun’s work represents the coexistence of multicultural identities within a single society. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the ArtBridge Fellowship 2020 sponsored by Chihuly Garden and Glass and was selected as an emerging artist in 2020 by the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. The talk will be in Room 535, Bowe Street Parking Deck, 609 Bowe St.

Sept. 11 Recognition Ceremony

The VCU Military Student Services Office will hold a Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony at the VCU Student Commons Plaza. A wreath will be laid and taps will be played as a moment is taken to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11/01. Following the ceremony there will be an opportunity to socialize and "hike the plaza" in honor of the fallen.

dana washington-queen: 'Resume at the Point of Interruption'

Lens-based artist dana washington-queen uses writing and video-making as an inquiry into freedom and escape. What are freedom’s possibilities? Where can it be found; what does it feel like? These questions, among others, animate the video installations, collages and sculptures that constitute "Resume at the Point of Interruption." The exhibit will be on view Sept. 9-Jan. 8 at VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St.

Walk-A-Dog

Mindful Moms Program for Pregnancy
VCU School of Nursing's Mindful Moms Program invites those who are 12-26 weeks pregnant to participate in free prenatal yoga or education classes during their pregnancy. Mindful Moms is an NIH-funded study seeking to understand how to best enhance mental health and well-being during pregnancy. Do You Vape?
Individuals between the ages of 18-65 who vape nicotine-containing e-cigarettes are invited to participate in a research study that examines the effects of vaping on eating behavior. Two, three-hour, laboratory visits, each with a buffet meal are required. Compensation is provided. Principal investigators are Andrew Barnes, Ph.D., Department of Health Behavior and Policy, and Caroline Cobb, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
