Sept. 11 Recognition Ceremony
8:30 a.m.
The VCU Military Student Services Office will hold a Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony at the VCU Student Commons Plaza. A wreath will be laid and taps will be played as a moment is taken to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11/01. Following the ceremony there will be an opportunity to socialize and "hike the plaza" in honor of the fallen.

Walk-A-Dog
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St., hosts a social event in which students and community members join together to walk dogs around VCU's campus and engage with others. Participants may bring a dog or walk one of the center's. The event will be held at 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m.

They could be working on a product or service that is already developed or starting at the beginning, with just an idea. During their time on the shelves they will collaborate on a group pop-up market. VCUarts Theatre and The Conciliation Project will present "Whitesplaining," an original devised piece. 'To Tell It Like It Is' - A Teach-In

VCU's Department of African American Studies and the Common Book Program will host a teach-in at the Commons Plaza. The event will feature speakers who will discuss Richmond’s history and give an honest accounting of the steps Richmonders are taking to disrupt systemic local racial and health inequities. Research Participation Opportunity: Race and Racism in the United States
If eligible, you will complete three surveys over the course of 10 months. Each survey consists of a series of measures, including those that are designed to assess your attitudes and beliefs, past experiences and future intentions, and demographic information and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. VCU Adobe Creative Jam Coming Oct. 31-Nov. 4
Adobe will host a Creative Jam event for VCU students Oct. 31-Nov. 4. Participants will learn specific Adobe applications from an Adobe expert, then work in teams to complete a "creative" challenge. Each team will create a solution and present its work to a jury of industry experts and peers for a chance to win prizes from Adobe. Details are being finalized and will be posted soon.

The F.O.O.D. Study Seeks Black Students To Participate in Online Survey
The Furthering Our Understanding Of Diet (F.O.O.D.) Study invites Black students to participate in one of two online surveys that seek to understand factors that influence food choices. Students may participate in either of the two surveys. Study 1 takes 20 to 25 minutes to complete. Study 2 takes 30 to 35 minutes to complete. Students who complete the study will have a 33 percent chance of winning one of 66 $15 Amazon e-gift cards. Register at the following URL.

Do You Smoke Tobacco Cigarettes?
Individuals who smoke tobacco cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation may be available. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available.
