Intersections: Black and Indigenous Sound in the Early Atlantic World

Join the Humanities Research Center at VCU in exploring the intersections of Black and Indigenous sounds and music in the early Atlantic world. The event will feature short presentations from leading scholars, Q&A sessions and a performance by the Charlottesville-based band Lua, known for an innovative blend of Latin-American and Appalachian tradition. This hybrid event will be held online via Zoom and in Room 2104, Academic Learning Commons, 1000 Floyd Ave.

Spit for Science Research Meeting

RamBikes Thrift Store Tour

RamBikes is hosting a group ride to help students become acquainted with the Richmond area and to introduce riding on streets in a safe way. This beginner-level ride will be led by RamBikes staff and will go around to several thrift stores in the campus and Fan areas. Join VCU Sustainability for its ArborDayRVA event at the Amelia Street School, 1821 Amelia St., to start converting areas of open lawn turf into lush, ecologically rich mini-meadows with native species. Refugee Gala Dinner and Art Auction

Students Together Assisting Refugees (STAR) at VCU is hosting a fundraising gala to raise money for refugees living in detention centers. Do You Smoke Tobacco Cigarettes?
Individuals who smoke tobacco cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation may be available. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
