Strings n' Things Crochet and Knitting Club will collaborate with Rams in Recovery at VCU during this week's meeting at the Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St. Those who attend can learn how Rams in Recovery supports students at VCU and enjoy some fresh coffee sponsored by Rams in Recovery’s Coffee Bike. (The Free Hot Coffee Bike was designed to engage people in conversation about recovery.) Snacks will be available and participants will also have the opportunity to learn how to administer Narcan. Intersections: Black and Indigenous Sound in the Early Atlantic World

Join the Humanities Research Center at VCU in exploring the intersections of Black and Indigenous sounds and music in the early Atlantic world. The event will feature short presentations from leading scholars, Q&A sessions and a performance by the Charlottesville-based band Lua, known for an innovative blend of Latin-American and Appalachian tradition. RamBikes Thrift Store Tour

RamBikes is hosting a group ride to help students become acquainted with the Richmond area and to introduce riding on streets in a safe way. This beginner-level ride will be led by RamBikes staff and will go around to several thrift stores in the campus and Fan areas. Join VCU Sustainability for its ArborDayRVA event at the Amelia Street School, 1821 Amelia St., to start converting areas of open lawn turf into lush, ecologically rich mini-meadows with native species. Refugee Gala Dinner and Art Auction

Calling all VCU Arts Students: Do you have a passion for art and for helping your community? Students Together Assisting Refugees (STAR) at VCU is hosting a fundraising gala to raise money for refugees living in detention centers. Donating an art piece will give you the chance to have your art piece displayed and auctioned at the gala dinner. All money raised from the auction will be donated. Hazing Prevention Training for Potential New Members

Free Flu Vaccines for Students
All VCU students are eligible to receive a free flu vaccine at Student Health. Appointments are required and may be scheduled via the Web Portal or by phone. Students can also request the flu vaccine during a scheduled medical appointment. Student Health will also be offering a flu vaccine clinic at the Virginia Rooms, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24. No appointment is necessary at this clinic; however face masks will be required in the vaccine clinic area.

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available. Do You Smoke Tobacco Cigarettes?
Individuals who smoke tobacco cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation may be available. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
