Scripture and Conversation

Reflect on the intersection of what’s going on in the world, your story and God’s story. Each session at the Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St., will include a reading and discussion of a short scripture passage from the Christian Bible.

Hike to Belle Isle
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Interested in exploring the James River, but don't know where to start? The Pace Center will host a guided walk to Belle Isle. Participants will hike through Oregon Hill over the suspension bridge to Belle Isle, walk the main gravel loop around Belle Isle and walk back to Pace. The four-mile hike will last approximately two hours. Bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Meet at the Pace Center, 700 W. Franklin St.

Recreation and Well-Being Weightlifting 101

Levis Prize Night: Reading by Devon Walker-Figueroa

Devon Walker-Figueroa, winner of the 2022 Levis Reading Prize for "Philomath," will read from her poetry collection in the lecture hall, Room 303, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. The Prize honors the poet and former VCU professor Larry Levis, who died in 1996. The Levis Reading Prize is presented on behalf of VCU's M.F.A. in Creative Writing Program in partnership with VCU Libraries. The reading is free and open to all.

New LiveSafe App Feature: Safety Concern
There's a new tip option for LiveSafe app users, “Safety Concern.” VCU Police will use tips submitted in this category to crowd source locations where community members may feel less safe on VCU's campuses. VCUPD can move resources to these locations in real time. Anyone can download the LiveSafe app, or use LiveSafe in the VCU Mobile app, to send in tips, photos, audio files, videos and screenshots. VCUPD dispatchers monitor tips 24/7.

Do You Smoke Tobacco Cigarettes?

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available.
