12th Annual Chili Cook-off Fundraiser
12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The VCU Police Department's 12th annual chili cook-off fundraiser will be held at Rodney's in the Shafer Court Dining Center. All are welcome. For a $5 cash entry fee, guests can taste a variety of chilis, get a bowl of their favorite and vote for "taster's choice." All proceeds benefit FRIENDS Association for Children in Richmond.

Fall 2022 Saloon Salon
7:30 p.m.
VCU Dance and Choreography will host a salon which will feature student choreography by dance majors and a Q&A. The free event will be at the Depot Annex Building, 801 W. Marshall St. The senior class will hold a bake sale at 7 p.m. The theme is western; participants are invited to wear hats and boots and bring a notepad and money for donations.

This year's Hallow Screen event in the lower level at James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave., will be a curated collection of student-made works using creative technologies including green screen demonstrations. Adobe Week at VCU

Adobe Week will showcase new Adobe offerings that utilize trends in emerging technology: interactive design, on-the-go video storytelling and more. A variety of workshops will be led by VCU faculty, staff, students and Adobe professionals. From noon-4 p.m. in Room 303, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave., a team will answer questions about Adobe Creative Cloud. Free snacks, games and swag will be available. From 4-5:30 p.m., a trainer will demonstrate Adobe Rush for beginners interested in simple video creation and editing.

Society of Physics Students To Hold Pumpkin Drop

First Friday: Portrait Studio With Naima Green

Drop by the ICA on First Friday for a chance to have your portrait taken in a studio led by photographer Naima Green in collaboration with VCUarts photo students. Known for her intimate photographs documenting Black and queer communities, Naima Green’s work has appeared in The Fader, The New York Times, iD, Vice and on the cover of Bazaar and Time magazines. Her solo exhibition "I Keep Missing My Water" is currently on view at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St.

Recreation and Well-Being Log Rolling Clinics
RecWell’s Key Log Rolling clinics will be held Thursday, Nov. 3 and Thursday, Nov. 17, 6:45-8:45 p.m. at the Cary Street Aquatic Center, 101 S. AUCTUS, VCU’s Journal for Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship, is currently accepting student submissions for its STEM, Social Sciences, Creative, Humanities, and News & Noteworthy sections. City To Enforce Time-Restricted Parking on Streets
After a two-week grace period that started Oct. 15, the City of Richmond will start to enforce time-restricted parking regulations on Saturdays on Arthur Ashe Boulevard from Broad Street to Moore Street, Belvidere to I-95 and from Leigh Street to Franklin Street. Enforcement is in an effort to support small businesses. Time limits are used to increase turnover, allowing more cars to park in the same number of spaces. Creating parking turnover reduces the amount of long-term parkers occupying on-street spaces.

Do You Smoke Tobacco Cigarettes?
Individuals who smoke tobacco cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation may be available. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
