An Introduction to Topology and Geometry, Applications and NSF Funding Opportunities for Students

Recreation and Well-Being First Aid, CPR and AED Training
Learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. This course meets OSHA requirements for workplace CPR/AED and first aid training. The blended learning format combines digital and in-person instruction. Online content must be completed prior to participating in the in-person skills sessions. Recreation and Well-Being Thanksgiving Week Facility Hours
RecWell facilities will have special hours of operation Friday, Nov. 18 through Wednesday, Nov. 23. All facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Nov. 26, and will reopen for normal fall hours on Sunday, Nov. 27. Hours for each facility can be found at the following URL.

Mail Services Winter Hours
Mail Services will close early on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and all day Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25 and reopen on Monday, Nov. 28. Locations will be open on Thursday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday through Thursday, Dec. 27-29 from 10 a.m.-noon on the Monroe Park Campus, 8 a.m.-noon at VMI and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ownby location. Departments receiving pickup and delivery services must contact Mail Services in writing or by email to request services during the winter closing. Otherwise, mail deliveries will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. See the "Special Hours of Operation" memo for more information.

Do You Vape Electronic Cigarettes?
Individuals who vape/use electronic cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal Investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

Concussion Research Study
The Children's Hospital of Richmond concussion program, as part of a study funded by the Child Health Research Institute, is recruiting adolescents between the ages of 10-18 for a concussion research study investigating the acoustic startle reflex. We are seeking 1) participants with a diagnosed concussion in the last week, and 2) non-concussed individuals with no history of concussion in the last year.
