Visiting Artist Lecture: Kon Trubkovich

VCU's Department of Painting and Printmaking will present a lecture by artist Kon Trubkovich in Room 535, Bowe Street Parking Deck, 609 Bowe St. Trubkovich was born in Moscow and lives and works in New York. Collections include the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; and Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H. Solo exhibitions include No Country for Old Men, MoMA PS1, New York (2006); and Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, NE (2015).

A Career in the State Department

VCU's Department of Political Science will host Carolyn Coberly, a former foreign service officer at the Department of State for 12 years before returning for her Ph.D. at the University of Virginia. Winners in the Creative Jam will be announced. Their work will be shown on the large screen in Room 303, the Lecture Hall, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. A panel will score each team’s finished project against criteria, select winners and provide feedback to the teams. ICA's First Friday: 2022 Day With(out) Art

Volunteers Sought for November Food Bank Outreach
Crushing Medical Debt at VCU, in partnership with Dollar For, a nonprofit that advocates in favor of patients to have their medical bills forgiven, are recruiting volunteers to reach out to local food banks and spread the word about Dollar For to those who visit food banks who may hold medical debt. The effort is part of their Thanksgiving outreach campaign. Volunteer hours will be awarded.

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Compensation is available.
