Traffic Changes for Richmond Marathon on Saturday, Nov. 12

VCU Facilities Management announces that the Richmond Marathon on Saturday, Nov. 12, will cause significant traffic changes for the university. The greatest impacts will be Broad Street from Arthur Ashe Boulevard to 11th Street, Grace Street from Arthur Ashe Boulevard to Fourth Street and Main Street from Belvidere to Arthur Ashe Boulevard. Closures will begin at 4 a.m. and can last until 3 p.m. There will also be numerous and frequent lane closures along the marathon, half-marathon and 8K routes. Road closures have been pre-loaded into the Waze traffic app to help ease navigation around Richmond on race day.

Saturday's Richmond Marathon Will Include Road Closures, No Parking and Towing Zones

The Richmond Marathon is Saturday, Nov. 12. Students, faculty and staff who live downtown are asked to pay particular attention to street closure signs, no parking signs and race course signs to avoid traffic delays and towing. Towing will begin today, Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. Race organizers recommend using the Waze traffic app to help navigate around Richmond on race day. Road closures have been pre-loaded into the app, which should allow drivers to travel using the most efficient route possible.
