Women in Science To Host Tea Party

ICA's First Friday: 2022 Day With(out) Art
Friday, Dec. 2, 2022 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
For the 33rd annual Day With(out) Art, arts organization Visual AIDS presents Being and Belonging, a program of seven short videos highlighting under-told stories of artists across the world living with HIV/AIDS. The screening will be followed by a conversation with featured guest Clifford Prince King, a photographer and filmmaker whose work appears in the program, along with VCU professors Christine Cynn and Julian Kevon Glover and ICA Assistant Curator David Riley. 'Rhyme and Recovery Night'
Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Storytelling and Healing will present “Rhyme and Recovery Night” poetry with themes revolving around healing. The evening will include reserved poetry read-alouds or performance times as well as the possibility of open-mic performances afterward. The event will be held in the SGA Senate Chambers, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. Students may sign up no later than Sunday, Nov. 27 using the following URL. A dress rehearsal via Zoom will be held Friday, Dec. 2 ahead of the Dec. 6 event.

Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Update
The Virginia Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) has updated its Policy 4.20 – Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) applicable to state employees, including all VCU faculty and staff. Effective Jan. 10, 2023, the policy changes the 12-month measurement period for determining eligibility for Family and Medical leave from the fixed 12-month period to a rolling 12-month period. A summary of this change: 12-month period for determining Family and Medical Leave Eligibility. Current: Amount of FMLA taken in the current fixed leave year Jan. 10-Jan. 9. New (effective Jan. 10, 2023): Amount of FMLA taken in the 12 months prior to the requested period of FMLA. Under the new policy, a new maximum period of FMLA eligibility will no longer become automatically available at the beginning of the leave year on Jan. 10. FMLA eligibility will be determined throughout the year by FMLA taken within the 12 months prior to the requested period of FMLA.

Do You Vape Electronic Cigarettes?
Individuals who vape/use electronic cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. This study will be conducted at VCU. Principal Investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.
