Visiting Artist Lecture: Cynthia Daignault
12 p.m.
VCU's Department of Painting and Printmaking will present a lecture by artist Cynthia Daignault. She has presented solo exhibitions and projects at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New Museum of Contemporary Art, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and MASS MoCA. The first major monograph on her work, "Light Atlas," was published in 2019 and a new paperback edition will be released in early 2023. The lecture will be in Room 535, Bowe Street Parking Deck, 609 Bowe St.

Queer Solstice Supper

An Introduction to Topology and Geometry, Applications and NSF Funding Opportunities for Students

This talk will offer basic concepts from geometry and topology through diagrams and informal explanations, and mention some applications. The talk should be accessible to undergraduate students who have studied calculus. The second half of the talk will include an overview of NSF opportunities for students. Craft Department Pottery Sale and Fundraiser

Students and faculty from VCU's Department of Craft/Material Studies will host their annual pottery sale and fundraiser Nov. 30-Dec. 2 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily in the first floor lobby of the Murry N. DePillars Building, 1000 W. Broad St. Mugs, magnets, vases, bowls, jewelry, sculpture and more will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the sale will support student travel to the 2023 National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts conference in Cincinnati.

The Filipino American Heart Health Study
Youssef Roman, Pharm.D., Ph.D., of VCU's School of Pharmacy, is conducting an epidemiological study to assess the prevalence and causes of heart diseases in Filipino Americans. This study is for those who consider themselves Filipino with both biological parents of Filipino heritage. The study is funded by VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research.
