The 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open. This FAFSA will consider you for financial aid opportunities for fall 2023, spring 2024 and summer 2024. Complete the application by the Wednesday, Feb. 1 priority deadline. Apply at the following URL.

Cultural Competency and Language Classes
VCU Continuing and Professional Education, in partnership with the School of World Studies, will hold live online Cultural Competency and Language Classes for VCU and VCU Health employees and community members for 1 academic credit. Intro to Conversational Spanish I and II and Language and Culture: Francophone World begin the week of Jan. 23 and run through early May. Research on Parent Training for Military or Military-Connected Parents
VCU’s Rehabilitation Research and Training Center is conducting a study to evaluate the impact of a five-month parent training course. Eligible participants should be 18 years of age or older, be in, retired, on reserves or connected to the military and have a child between the ages of five and 11 who has autism and who exhibits challenging behavior.

Smoking Reduction Study for African American Menthol Smokers
Adults who smoke menthol cigarettes and identify as Black/African American are invited to participate in a study that involves electronic cigarette use for six weeks to reduce their smoking. Participants must be willing to visit the study site, receive phone calls and respond to texts and surveys. Compensation is provided. Principal investigators are Andrew Barnes, Ph.D., Health Behavior and Policy, and Caroline Cobb, Ph.D., Psychology.

Are You Stressed? Participate in a Stress-Reduction Study
The VCU Wellbeing Lab invites you to participate in a research study on two stress-reduction programs for undergraduate students. VCU investigators seek to understand how two online stress reduction programs affect students’ mood and stress-related behavior. Compensation is available.
