Getting to Know Google Assignments

Workplace First Aid Including Hands-On CPR
Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 from noon to 1 p.m.
Join medical personnel from VCU and VCUHS as they discuss how to treat minor physical injuries, such as small cuts, splinters, stings and burns. Hands-on CPR training will also be provided for those who want to learn basic lifesaving resuscitation skills. It does not provide a course completion card. Recreation and Well-Being Ram Power Challenge To Be Sunday, Jan. 29
RecWell’s Ram Power Challenge event will provide the opportunity for participants to explore their physical strength by completing power lifts, squats, bench presses and deadlifts. RecWell certified personal trainers and fitness floor attendants will guide participants through each exercise. After learning the basics each participant will have two chances to test their strength on each lift. Register by Friday, Jan. 27 at the following URL.

Faculty: Apply by March 6 for State Grants To Support No-Cost Course Materials
VCU Libraries, in support of open and affordable course materials across the VCU community, announces that a new round of VIVA Open Course Grants is open for applications. These $5,000 to $50,000 grants empower Virginia faculty with the resources and time they need to redesign courses by swapping expensive course materials for open, no-cost or library options. Applications are due March 6. Libraries faculty will assist with applications.

Do You Smoke Tobacco Cigarettes?
Individuals who smoke tobacco cigarettes daily are needed to participate in a research study that requires multiple laboratory visits. Compensation may be available. This study will be conducted at VCU. The principal investigator is Alison Breland, Ph.D., Department of Psychology.

The VCU Wellbeing Lab invites you to participate in a research study on two stress-reduction programs for undergraduate students. VCU investigators seek to understand how two online stress reduction programs affect students’ mood and stress-related behavior. Compensation is available.
