The VCU Transfer Center announces Transfer Peer Advocate Student Hours, a new initiative for the spring semester. Transfer Peer Advocates will host student hours in the VCU Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., throughout the semester. Stop by the table in the University Student Commons Lobby between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to have questions answered or to just chat with a fellow transfer student.

My Life, My Scholarship Symposium

VCU's Institute for Inclusion, Inquiry and Innovation (iCubed) will host a symposium with Kristina Hood, Ph.D., an iCubed scholar in the Culture, Race and Health core and an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology. She will discuss her lived experiences and how they are intertwined with her research and scholarship. The event will be held at Barnes and Noble at VCU, 1111 W. Broad St.

Book Reading Group: An Experience for Men of Color

The Men's Multicultural Collective will have a book reading group for Men of Color. The group will read together "A Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor E. Frankl. Reception for Black Fidelity

VCUarts and The Anderson will present Black Fidelity, a showcase of art and performances from Black Art Student Empowerment (BASE), Creative Production Collective (CPC) and BLKinFashion for Black History Month. The opening reception on the top floors of The Anderson, 907 1/2 W. Franklin St., will kick off the exhibition and series of events exploring Afrorealism and Afrofuturism through Feb. 23.

17th Annual Women's Health Research Day

The VCU Institute for Women's Health announces the 17th Annual Women's Health Research Day. This year's plenary symposium, to be held at the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center, 900 Turpin St., is titled Health Equity for Maternal Child Wellness. Researchers at all levels are invited to submit poster abstracts in any research area that focuses on women’s health or sex/gender differences. The abstract deadline is March 10. This is an open call for all faculty/staff/students interested in reading for the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. The award honors a debut novel written during the preceding calendar year. The VCUarts Department of Art Education is offering the Creative Arts Day Camp this summer for children rising into grades K-9. Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Amazon gift card compensation is available. Participation in this research study is voluntary.

The F.O.O.D. Study Seeks Black Students To Participate in Online Survey
The Furthering Our Understanding Of Diet (F.O.O.D.) Study invites Black students to participate in one of two online surveys that seek to understand factors that influence their food choices. Students may participate in either of the two surveys. Study 1 takes 20-25 minutes to complete. Study 2 takes 30-35 minutes to complete.
