Student Issue for January 9, 2023
This week
Autism Center Webcast
Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
VCU's Autism Center for Education will present the webcast "Finding the Fuel for Learning and Emotional Well-Being - Social Emotional Engagement." While standards-based instruction is the classroom focus, the center's learners are more likely to access the curriculum when they are “invested,” “independent” and “initiating” with their peers and teachers. This webcast reviews the neuroscience of learning and shift toward a practical discussion of why it is necessary to measure and enhance learning. Register at the following URL.

Water Damage at Health Sciences Library Forces Closure of Some Spaces
Some spaces, including all group study rooms, are closed at the Health Sciences Library, 509 N. 12th St., due to water damage. A water pipe in the 1932 building froze and burst during winter break when local temperatures dropped below freezing. The group study rooms, the Special Collections and Archives Reading Room and the Collaboration Room will be closed until further notice. It is expected that these spaces will be closed through January but repairs may extend the closures.
