Open Enrollment for Health Coverage and Flexible Spending
Open enrollment for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s health coverage and flexible spending plans will be offered starting today, Monday, May 1, through Monday, May 15. Eligible university faculty and staff may start or continue enrollment in flexible spending accounts, start or continue participation in premium rewards and/or make changes to health coverage elections for the plan year that begins July 1, 2023. Extra Security Patrols During Finals
R.M.C. Security will conduct extra mobile and foot patrols in and around Cabell Library through Tuesday, May 9. This includes additional R.M.C. Security staff outside the library and on nearby blocks from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily through finals season. VCU Police officers patrol both of VCU’s campuses 24/7 and can be reached by calling (804) VCU-1234 at any time. Community members can also use the LiveSafe app to text with VCUPD dispatchers or send in safety tips.

Updated Annual Leave Policy for Veterans at VCU
As of Jan. 10, 2023 VCU HR provided enhanced leave accrual rates to veteran classified and UAP employees in alignment with updates to DHRM’s Policy 4.10. VCU will also adjust the annual leave accrual rate for faculty and the university leave accrual rate for University and Academic Professionals in a similar manner. Eligible employees must supply DD-214 documentation for each period of military service to receive this benefit.

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Amazon gift card compensation is available. Participation in this research study is voluntary.
