Black History Month Author Talk: ‘Memories of a Tuskegee Airmen Nurse and Her Military Sisters’

VCU Alumni will present a virtual talk with author Pia Jordan about her upcoming book, “Memories of a Tuskegee Airmen Nurse and Her Military Sisters.” The book tells the story of the Army Nurse Corps members who served with the Tuskegee Airmen at Tuskegee Army Air Field during World War II. 'Night of the Living Dead' and Short Film Screening at Byrd Theatre

In connection with student-curated exhibition “Everything Once Arranged Has Become Scattered,” The Anderson will host a lecture by Pittsburgh-based artist and filmmaker Rebecca Shapass and a screening of her short film “nickel for a silver screen,” along with a screening of the 1968 horror classic “Night of the Living Dead” at the Byrd Theatre, 2908 W. Cary St. The event is free to all VCU students, faculty, and staff.

Black Muslim Collective Basketball Tournament

Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Exercise
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have PTSD or symptoms of PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of PTSD symptoms on blood vessel function during acute exercise and following exercise training. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal investigator is Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
