Special Announcement

GRTC Emergency Response Drill Set for Today, April 27

To prepare for the opening of a new, temporary Downtown Transfer Station, the GRTC Transit System is required to complete an emergency response drill. The drill is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon today, Thursday, April 27, in a parking lot on the 800 block of East Clay Street near VCU's MCV Campus. Local emergency responders will simulate a situation which requires an immediate response to an emergency. The Richmond Police Department is participating. Community members are asked to follow any instructions to remain out of the drill area and permit the team to safely complete the exercise. There will be no impacts to the existing Transfer Station Plaza on Ninth Street.

To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Amazon gift card compensation is available. Participation in this research study is voluntary.
