Community Screening of 'Birthing Justice'

Join the History and Health Program, Birth in Color RVA and the VCU School of Medicine Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for a screening of "Birthing Justice." The documentary flips the victim-blaming narrative, centering on the lived experiences of Black women and their advocates as they fix a broken system and transform the future, one birth at a time. 'Body Parts' - Free Screening at the ICA

"Body Parts," a documentary which explores the evolution of desire and sex from a woman's perspective, will have a free screening at VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. Kristy Guevara-Flanagan, who directed the film, is scheduled to attend. The film is being presented by VCU's Department of Photography and Film.

Avaya Workplace and MyE911

In the coming months VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on the Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allows customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. The sessions are open to all VCU and VCU Health.

Start by Believing Day / Cover the Cruiser

VCU Police will host Start by Believing Day in the University Student Commons Plaza. Thirteen organizations will have resource tables, giveaways, swag, food and games. Police will be collecting pledges from community members to cover a police cruiser. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign pledge cards to start by believing sexual assault survivors when they disclose an assault.

Recreation and Well-Being OAP Climbing Clinics
Want to become more independent in rock climbing? Learning to belay allows you to climb with a partner and is a fundamental skill for all rock climbers. Outdoor Adventure Program staff will teach best practices for belaying and answer questions about climbing in the Cary St. Gym, 101 S. Linden St. Clinics are held every Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. Registration is encouraged and walk-ins are welcome. OAP also offers Gym to Crag, Climbing Technique and Sport Climbing clinics.

F.O.O.D. Study Seeks Black Students to Participate in an Online Study
The Furthering Our Understanding Of Diet (F.O.O.D.) Study invites Black students to participate in one of two online surveys that seek to understand factors that influence their food choices. Students may participate in either of the two surveys. Study 1 takes 20-25 minutes to complete, and Study 2 takes 30-35 minutes.
