Parking Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations

Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking. Today (June 6) and June 7-9, all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to the West Cary Street Deck, 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, 100 S. Jefferson St.; or West Main Street Deck, 801 W. Main St.

A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by Parking and Transportation June 6-9 to transport subscribers to and from the West Cary Street and Jefferson Street decks. RamSafe shuttles will run continuously to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin Streets, Franklin and Laurel Streets, and Shafer and Franklin Streets from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. VCU parking subscribers who need transportation between the hours of 6:31 p.m. and 6:29 a.m., can place a ride request at https://parking.vcu.edu/transportation/ramsafe/ using the Ride Pingo app.

Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck June 6-9. MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck or West Main Street Deck.

Takebe seeks to develop and apply novel approaches and tools to recapitulate, probe and manipulate human liver development and to understand the personalized molecular mechanisms that lead to disease. Automation and Controls Training

In partnership with VCU Continuing and Professional Education, the College of Engineering will offer Automation and Controls Training, Aug. 7-11, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. This introductory noncredit course in industrial automation is intended for engineers, technicians or supervisors who work in the area of industrial automation, but do not have in-depth knowledge of PLCs. The class will be in Room 105, VCU College of Engineering West Hall. A degree in engineering is helpful, but not required. Early bird and group rates available. Register at the following URL.

Due to budget constraints and rising journal costs, VCU Libraries will reduce subscriptions to journals published by Springer effective January 2024. Timing for decision-making is tight. Members of the VCU community are urged to share their opinions about the proposed cancellations via the online feedback form no later than Aug. 4. Updated Annual Leave Policy for Veterans at VCU

As of Jan. 10, 2023, VCU HR provided enhanced leave accrual rates to veteran classified employees in alignment with updates to the Department of Human Resource Management’s Policy 4.10. VCU will also adjust the annual leave accrual rate for faculty and the university leave accrual rate for University and Academic Professionals in a similar manner. Eligible employees must supply DD-214 documentation for each period of military service to receive this benefit.
