Join History and Health: Equitable Access to Care for a virtual panel discussing how marginalized and multi-marginalized people in the United States (e.g., BIPOC and LGTBQIA+) are impacted by the history and procedures of clinical trials, how these experiences influence skepticism toward clinical trials and how activism focused on outreach and awareness can be promoted. Pass My Crown (The Women’s Voice in Hip Hop)
6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Department of African American Studies, Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies, Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and Girls for a Change will present a Women's HERstory Month panel event on the current state and history of women in hip hop. The panel will discuss lyrics, dress, feminism/womanism, culture appropriation (the Black woman aesthetic), overt and covert misogyny, activism, what’s next for women in hip hop and how a multitude of women's voices need to be heard. The event will be in Room 1107, Academic Learning Commons, 1000 Floyd Ave.

VCU's Center for Biological Data Science and Bioinformatics Societies are holding BNFOTHON 2023 on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19 at Grace E. Harris Hall, 1015 Floyd Ave. BNFOTHON is a Bioinformatics and Biology hackathon in which teams of four to five come up with cutting-edge solutions to modern biology, bioinformatics and health-care problems. VCU Police To Offer Women's Self-Defense Course
VCU Police will host Rape Aggression Defense training April 4, 6, 11 and 13. RAD teaches participants physical self-defense techniques and raises awareness about sexual assault, violence and abduction. The class is for women (assigned/identifying/transgender) and is free to students, or $10 for faculty, staff and visitors. RAD is a 12-hour program and participants must be able to attend all dates.
