Critical Language Scholarship

British Virginia: A Digital Humanities Project

VCU English professor Joshua Eckhardt, Ph.D., and interns Sarah Black, Paul Brennan, Kayleigh Dumont and Olivia Hudson will discuss British Virginia at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, 428 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd. This digital humanities project, which features rare books and documents from the museum's collections, reproduces editions of original documents about the Virginia Colony, primarily from the Virginia Company of London, to make them widely accessible and downloadable. Hands-On Torn Paper Landscapes

This short session offers a crash course on the dos and don'ts to dining in a formal manner, as well as other aspects of formal etiquette. Such skills are less important in everyday life, but these skills can still be relevant in a formal business setting or impressing your partner's parents when you have dinner with them for the first time. This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples.
