Open Mic: A Rejection of the Survivalist Nature of Black Excellence
6 p.m.
An open mic event will be held in Monroe Park featuring an installation by VCU student Maia Hollien which focuses on a rejection of the survivalist nature of black excellence. The installation is sponsored by Associate Professor Bob Paris, Department of Kinetic Imaging, for his Socially Engaged Media class. Those who attend may participate with a song, story or poetry. Access: Fashion Event at VMFA
Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.
VCUarts Department of Fashion Design and Merchandising will host a fashion event at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, 200 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd. The event will feature creations by fashion design and merchandising students. A runway will be featured at 6 and 7:15 p.m. The event is free and non-seated. Parking is available at the VMFA.

Interior Design MFA BFA Thesis Show

Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Amazon gift card compensation is available. Participation in this research study is voluntary.
