Plan-Off! 2023
Friday, May 5, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Each year, students from the Wilder School’s Master of Urban and Regional Planning program present their ideas for a better community, competing for a prize by pitching their solution to a real-world planning, public policy or management problem before a panel of expert judges. Students have five minutes to present their plans, which will advance through a series of rounds until a champion is named. The event, to be at PlanRVA ofices, 424 Hull St., Suite 300, is free and open to the public.

Graphic Design Senior Show
Friday, May 5, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
VCUarts Department of Graphic Design will host its Senior Capstone Exhibition at its classroom studio, 822 W. Broad St. The event is the culmination of the semester's work toward the thesis project in the BFA program. The exhibit will be open to the public.

GDES Mixtape Listening Party
Friday, May 5, 2023 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Wes Taylor's Graphic Design Core IV class of VCUarts will host a listening party to exhibit posters, packaging, video and collaborative music that centers around themes of Ferns, Wavicles, Starlings and Mycelium. The event will occur at 3213 Lanvale Ave. after the Senior Expo, MYCELLIUM, and will have tacos and drinks on a first-come-first-serve basis (vegan options included).

ICA Live: Lucrecia Dalt

Open Mic: A Rejection of the Survivalist Nature of Black Excellence

An open mic event will be held in Monroe Park featuring an installation by VCU student Maia Hollien which focuses on a rejection of the survivalist nature of black excellence. The installation is sponsored by Associate Professor Bob Paris, Department of Kinetic Imaging, for his Socially Engaged Media class. Those who attend may participate with a song, story or poetry. Avaya Workplace and MyE911 Apps
Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
In the coming months VCU Telecommunications Services will offer virtual training on the Avaya Workplace and MyE911 apps, which allow customers to extend their office number to their remote work site. The Avaya Workplace app is geared for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. Google Sites Decommission
On Monday, May 15, the ability to create new Google Sites will no longer be available. Existing Google Sites will continue to be editable until June 2024. University-related sites and course-related sites should be moved or created in the appropriate university systems. Personal sites should be moved or created on non-university hosted platforms.
