Interprofessional Development Opportunity in Geriatrics

The Virginia Geriatric Education Center, housed in VCU’s Virginia Center on Aging, is accepting applications for its annual faculty and clinician development program. Creating Interprofessional Readiness for Complex and Aging Adults (CIRCAA) is a nine-month case-based learning experience that creates age-friendly practitioners who are knowledgeable of person-centered care. Due to budget constraints and rising journal costs, VCU Libraries will reduce subscriptions to journals published by Springer effective January 2024. Timing for decision-making is tight. Members of the VCU community are urged to share their opinions about the proposed cancellations via the online feedback form no later than Aug. 4. Mindful Moms Program for Pregnancy
VCU School of Nursing's Mindful Moms Program welcomes those who are 12-26 weeks pregnant to join the school's free prenatal yoga or education classes during their pregnancy. Mindful Moms is an NIH-funded study seeking to understand how to best enhance mental health and well-being during pregnancy. The school welcomes those who are feeling stressed, anxious or depressed. Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Exercise
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have GAD or symptoms of GAD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of GAD symptoms on blood vessel function during acute exercise and in response to exercise training. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal investigator is Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
