Avaya Workplace and MyE911 Apps

The Avaya Workplace app allows customers to extend their office number to their remote work site and is ideal for remote workers. Callers can reach remote workers on any device by calling their work telephone number, and when placing a call the caller party will see their work number and not their mobile number. Also, learn how the MyE911 app works in conjunction with Avaya Workplace if the desktop version is being used. The session is open to all VCU and VCU Health. Register at the following URL.

'Hepatobility Development and Disease,' Presented by Takanori Takebe, M.D., Ph.D.
Wednesday, Jun. 7, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Stravitz-Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and Metabolic Health will present a talk by Takanori Takebe, M.D., Ph.D., the endowed chair of organoid medicine and director of commercial innovation for Center for Stem Cell and Organoid Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and a professor at Osaka University and Tokyo Medical and Dental University. Takebe seeks to develop and apply novel approaches and tools to recapitulate, probe and manipulate human liver development and to understand the personalized molecular mechanisms that lead to disease. The event will be at the McGlothlin Medical Education Center, The Learning Theater, 1201 E. Marshall St.

VCU Massey Cancer Center Special Announcement on NCI Designation

Recreation and Well-Being First Aid, CPR and AED Training - Blended Learning
Saturday, Jun. 10, 2023 at 9 a.m.
RecWell will offer the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course, which prepares participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. This course meets OSHA requirements for workplace CPR/AED and first aid training. Successful completion of this course provides participants with a certificate valid for two years. The class will be taught at the Cary Street Gym, 101 S. Linden St. Register by Friday, June 2 at the following URL.

The Sandwich Generation
Monday, Jun. 12, 2023 from noon to 1 p.m.
Most employees today will have to take care of an older relative while they are still taking care of their own families. This is known as the “sandwich generation.” This virtual class, presented by VCU HR and Anthem EAP, will feature a discussion about how to collect information, communicate with compassion, be proactive and respectful and cope with the issues that the sandwich generation must face. Black Love Safe Love
This is a research study aiming to receive feedback on a sexual health intervention designed for couples. To be eligible to participate, you have to identity as Black or African American and be 18 to 35 years of age. The study requires participation in a 120-minute session and completion of a questionnaire. Amazon gift card compensation is available. Participation in this research study is voluntary.
