RecWell will offer the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course, which prepares participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies. This course meets OSHA requirements for workplace CPR/AED and first aid training. Successful completion of this course provides participants with a certificate valid for two years. VCU Continuing and Professional Education, in partnership with the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, will hold face-to-face and online self-defense Aikido courses for one academic credit this fall. Courses at The Fan Dojo begin the week of Aug. 21 and run through early December on Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m. (HPEX 121.C90) or Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m. (HPEX 121.C91). A $65 fee goes to the dojo to cover a training shirt, which stands in for a traditional training uniform, and facility costs. An asynchronous online course is also available (HPEX 121.C94).
