Volunteers Sought for VCU President's Special Commission on Slavery and Justice

VCU's Office of the President launched Project Gabriel in spring 2023 to report, reconcile and heal the wounds caused by VCU’s historic ties to the institution of slavery. Project Gabriel is hosting two community forums, on June 29 from 6-8 p.m. and July 11 from 6-8 p.m. Several volunteers are needed to serve as scribes to record key themes presented in virtual breakout room sessions.

Cultural Competency and Language Classes

VCU Continuing and Professional Education, in partnership with the School of World Studies, will hold live online Cultural Competency and Language Classes for VCU and VCU Health employees and community members for one academic credit. Intro to Conversational Spanish I and II and Language and Culture: Francophone World begin the week of Aug. 28 and run through early December. Virginia and the Vietnam War Exhibit: Call To Share Your Story

The Virginia Museum of History and Culture is seeking individuals to interview for a new exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. The exhibit will be guest curated by VCU history professor Emilie Raymond, Ph.D. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, July 1.
